Oh man i saw this illustration at ffffound today and it is one of the prettiest things that i’ve seen for a long long time. I’m totally in love with it.
Thanks Cory. Not really a story behind this one, just a combination of ideas I had and wanted a certain feel/mood. It is meant to convey a sense of sorrow as well
as beauty found often in catholic artwork, at least to me. I thought it would be nice to reference this by portraying a veiled women crying with a hallow that would hint at referencing the virgin Mary.
This one in particular people seem to like, and I think that is because it reflects more of my intuition about creative iconic imagery, images that demand your attention, and leave you wondering what it all means,
even if it JUST a face. I actually get fed up with myself and lack of creativity sometimes, feeling that all I do is draw faces over and over again without much of a narrative, but hell….i enjoy it. I am obsessed with aesthetic, and so maybe
the narrative suffers a bit. Although I find artwork with a real story and backround valuable, I am equally fascinated by what I do not understand, but enjoy looking at. So, I am maybe more of a designer in that sense. The question is as meaningful
and of value as the answer sort-of-thing.
Thanks for dropping by, always nice to hear others enjoying what I draw.
